Teasdale, Utah – Luxe Den is expanding beyond Lehi to southern Utah. A new property, Luxe Den Capitol Reef, will operate in Teasdale, a few minutes from Torrey and the western entrance to Capitol Reef National Park.
The property centres on a six-bedroom lodge in which every bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom, arranged around a full shared kitchen, a common room and a wraparound covered deck. Rooms will be available individually, and the building can also be taken whole as a single retreat.
Six geodesic structures already stand on the site alongside the lodge. Each sleeps two and has its own private bathroom a short walk away. All six are being rebuilt with tempered-glass shells for the 2027 season, angled at the sky.
Why this location
Capitol Reef National Park is a certified International Dark Sky Park, and Torrey is a certified International Dark Sky Community — a designation that requires a town to adopt and enforce outdoor lighting ordinances, and which is considerably harder to earn than the park designation. The practical consequence is that the sky does not materially improve when you drive from the town into the park. It is already dark where people live.
Wayne County, which contains most of the park, had 2,486 residents across 2,466 square miles at the 2020 census — almost exactly one person per square mile. That number explains most of what the area is like, including the sky.
"Lehi taught us that people will travel for a well-made place to stay. Capitol Reef is one of the least crowded national parks in Utah and one of the darkest places in the country, and it is underserved. We are building around the sky and letting everything else get out of the way."
— Morgan Kotter, Co-Founder, Luxe Den
How it will operate
The property runs without on-site staff, a front desk or a breakfast service. Check-in is self-serve, and the kitchen is a full shared kitchen rather than catering — a group cooking for itself is the intent of the building rather than a gap in it.
A wellness circuit — sauna, cold plunge and open-air soaking tubs — is planned for 2027 and is not yet built.

Dates are not open yet and nothing is bookable. Details, guides to the area and an early-access list are at luxedenresorts.com. Enquiries about whole-building retreats, group stays and corporate offsites can be sent through the contact form there.
